Tempe Program Director
Kyle Johnson is a certified addictions counselor (CAC) and is the program director for The Pathway Program in Tempe. He has been working with young people and families dealing with substance abuse since 2009.
Having battled his own struggles with addiction from ages 13 to 15, Kyle experienced the challenges of staying sober in an intensive outpatient program before seeking treatment at Step Two Recovery in Phoenix, Arizona. It was at Step Two Recovery that Kyle made significant progress, found his passion for recovery, and has remained sober ever since.
Motivated by his own journey, Kyle returned to Phoenix to work at Step Two Recovery, starting as a shift counselor. He was committed to showing adolescents the fun of sober living and demonstrating that life without mind-altering substances is not only possible but fulfilling. Over time, Kyle transitioned to facilitating group counseling sessions for adolescents, drawing on his personal experience to connect with both the young clients and their families.
Throughout the years, Kyle took on the role of Program Director at The Pathway Program. In this position, he oversees day-to-day operations, assists families in creating intervention plans, leads group sessions, and provides individual and parent counseling. Kyle’s experiences as a father of three have deepened his passion for supporting parents through their own challenges.
Outside of his work, Kyle enjoys activities such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, camping, snowboarding, and spending quality time with loved ones and friends.
