Young Adult IOP Counselor
Caroline Milstead facilitates the Older Group Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for young adults ages 18–25 at the The Pathway Program in Tempe, Arizona. Originally from Philadelphia, Caroline attended college and earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024. She is currently pursuing counseling certifications as she continues to grow in the recovery field.
Caroline’s work is deeply informed by her own recovery journey. After struggling with substance use for several years and experiencing multiple unsuccessful treatment attempts, she found sobriety at age 20 through The Insight Program in Atlanta, Georgia. Through the 12 Steps and the community she found in recovery, Caroline discovered a sense of purpose, passion, and joy that she once thought was impossible.
Her experience inspired her to dedicate her life to helping other young adults discover the same hope and freedom that recovery has given her. Caroline believes strongly in the power of enthusiastic sobriety and feels grateful to walk alongside young people as they begin building meaningful, sober lives.
Caroline moved to Arizona to pursue her career in recovery and to be part of a sober community. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in the Arizona desert, traveling, and baking for friends and family.
